Customer Service

December 9th, 2011

Customer service is key we all know that; yet, how many of us take the time to notice someone who is doing an excellent job, compliment them on it, and then telling their store manager about it?

Yesterday I had an absolutely fan-tab-u-lous experience at the Gainesville, Florida Five Guys restaurant.  It’s store #1114 on Archer Road.

I have aging parents and it can be like herding ducks with the two of them.  We pulled into the handicap space in front of the store and there was a smiling guy with arms wide open saying, “Welcome to Five Guys!  We appreciate you being here!”

Whoa!  Really?  I was immediately suspicious of some grand upsell that was going to be introduced to us.  Nope, he opened the door with a flourish and helped both parents through the door.

Now, I’ve been in several different Five Guys stores before and while everyone is always very friendly and helpful, Joe took it to a whole new level.  This guy should be named the Five Guys Goodwill Amabassador that’s how good he was.

Joe made a point of coming over to our several times during the next hour and 15 minutes (my dad is an incredibly slow eater) and talking with them.  He made them feel welcome and important.  Upon leaving, he opened the door with a flourish once again and helped my dad into my car.

Yes, I complimented Joe, I told the restaurant manager, and I wrote an email to the company which Scott, the g.m. of that store, responded to within a couple of hours.  How’s that for terrific customer service from both employee and management?

The hamburgers were great but Joe’s customer service was phenomenal!  Even if the hamburgers weren’t so good, I’d be back because of Joe.

What does a hamburger restaurant have to do with social media?  Everything when an employee does such an outstanding job that you want to let the world know…which is what I’m doing right now.

What are you doing in your business that makes YOUR customer want to tell the world about you?

What’s the difference between a personal, fan, and welcome page?

September 6th, 2011

You may be overlooking an opportunity to promote yourself, your business, and your products or services by not taking advantage of one of the greatest marketing tools ever! Facebook fan and welcome pages can increase your sales tremendously.

The quick difference between facebook personal, fan, and welcome pages are: a personal page is really all about you. Your personal page is also used as the administrator page for a BUSINESS fan and welcome page.

A fan (business) page is all about promoting your business, services, and products. Explode your sales by adding a welcome page.

What is a welcome page? In short, it is an opportunity for you to offer your viewers a free e-book, report, or something else of value. This is called your compelling offer. Highlight your business with a 30-60 second video. Include an auto-responder so you can capture the viewer’s name and email address. Why? So you can stay in touch with them on a regular basis.

Welcome pages are, without a doubt, the best way to get new customers. A welcome page is the best way to gain new customers on a regular basis.
